Silflex
Soft silicone wound contact layer

Product Description
Silflex is a wound contact non-adherent dressing made from polyester mesh coated with Silfix softsilicone. Silflex is designed to gently adhere to the skin surrounding a wound and not to the wound bed. This is an atraumatic dressing which means it is designed to minimise the pain and trauma associated with dressing change. The dressing allows the passage of exudate.

Use
Remove the clear liners on each side of the dressing and place directly over the wound. Silflex may overlap the wound edges. Cover with a secondary dressing of choice which may be an absorbent pad or film dressing. We recommend either Eclypse Adherent or Episil Absorbent depending on exudate levels.

Indications
Skin tears / Skin abrasions / Surgical wounds / Second degree burns / Lacerations / Leg and pressure ulcers / Topical negative pressure

Features
Adheres only to dry skin not to a moist wound / Atraumatic soft silicone; reduced pain on dressing change / Allows passage of exudate / Hydrophobic Silfix soft silicone coating / Soft and conformable

Eclypse Adherent
Atraumatic exudate management

Product Description
Eclypse Adherent is a super absorbent wound exudate management dressing with Silfix soft silicone technology. The soft silicone layer provides convenient gentle adherence and will facilitate atraumatic removal. The Silfix layer does not damage the surrounding skin, peri-wound area or newly formed tissue and will not adhere to the wound bed. Due to the nature of soft silicone technology, Eclypse Adherent will only adhere to dry skin surrounding the wound and can be easily lifted for adjustment without losing its adherent properties. The backing is a water resistant barrier film to prevent strike-through with a high moisture vapour transfer rate prolonging wear ability. Eclypse Adherent incorporates a rapid wicking layer, designed to rapidly take up fluid. The absorption capacity is provided by the unique moisture locking system, this technology provides a large capacity for exudate and bacteria which is held in a gel state to reduce the risk of maceration and infection.

Use
Eclypse Adherent is placed face down on wound surface with blue backing uppermost. For large wounds several dressings can be placed side-by-side. Wear time will depend on the level of exudate but Eclypse Adherent can be left in place for up to seven days.

Indications
Leg ulcers / Pressure ulcers / Sloughy or granulating wounds / Post operative sutured or dehisced wounds / Fungating wounds / Donor sites

Features
High capacity exudate management / Atraumatic dressing technology / Breathable fluid repellent backing / Moist wound healing environment

Use
Apply to wound (white silicone face down, beige side up) allowing a minimum of a 2cm border overlap around the wound area. Do not cut Eclypse Adherent Sacral. Eclypse Adherent Sacral is self adherent but may require additional support with a suitable tape. Siltape
Soft silicone perforated tape

Product Description
Siltape is a soft silicone fixation tape delivered on a handy roll with perforations for ease of use, noscissors are required.

Use
Siltape can be used in any situation where a regular adhesive tape would be used. It is particularly useful where friable or sensitive skin is an issue. Siltape is a fantastic solution to taping down eyelids for theatre. Glue based tapes are often used, these can be painful to remove and in some cases cause tissue damage or pull out eyelashes. Siltape is great for securing IV lines and fistula needles as it can be repositioned with no loss of adherence and with atraumatic soft silicone, no tissue damage will occur. Small incision sites such as biopsys can be covered with the soft silicone tape with no harm to the wound or surrounding skin. Siltape is ideal for protecting friable tissue from pressure damage or sores from tubing; this is especially useful on the face and tops of ears. Siltape can be applied directly to the skin and tubing can be placed on top.

Indications
Hold dressings in place / Taping down eyelids (in theatre) / Securing IV lines / Over small incision sites / Under oxygen masks on bridges of noses / Securing fistula needles / Protection from pressure damage or sores from tubing

Features
Atraumatic soft silicone / reduced pain on change / adjustment or removal / Soft & conformable / Adheres only to dry skin not to a moist wound / Easily adjustable with no loss of adherence

Advasil conform
Silicone gel sheet for scar management

Product Description
A sheet of medical grade self-adherent silicone gel for the management of scar tissue or recentlyhealed wounds. Composed of a conformable layer of translucent (Silfix®) silicone gel and a smooth polyurethane outer layer to improve wearability and patient compliance. Silicone gel sheets are reported to help reduce the effects of scarring if worn for prolonged periods. Hypertrophic and keloid scarring may particularly benefit from Advasil conform. Advasil conform is made from medical grade silicone approved for skin contact. Advasil conform is supplied sterile for improved hygiene but once opened is non-sterile.

Use
Remove Advasil conform from the pack, remove the liner and place gel side to the scar. For smaller scars Advasil conform can be cut to size, to facilitate removal of the liner ensure a portion of the pull tab remains after cutting. For larger scars use additional sheets of Advasil conform and place side by side. Advasil conform is self adherent but if required may be held in place by medical tape, a crepe bandage or film dressing. Advasil conform is reusable and should be washed at least once a day with warm water and mild soap. Avoid using any heavy soaps or detergents as they may cause disintegration of the silicone and/or skin irritation. Gently pat the product dry using a lint free cloth. Ensure the product is dry before re-applying to the skin or storing. When not using Advasil conform replace the liner and store in original packaging. It is important that the skin beneath the dressing is kept clean, and dry. Wash area daily. Wear time should be built up over a period of time to condition the skin. Advasil conform should be initially applied to the scar for a maximum of two hours on the first day. Add two hours a day until Advasil conform can be comfortably worn for 24 hours. If during the conditioning period there is any irritation or allergic reaction remove Advasil conform. If the gel starts to disintegrate discard and use a new piece.
